Where do Helping Hand Legacy Society gifts go?
Legacy gifts to HHRD will be deposited into our HHRD endowment. If someone donates for a specific purpose, those wishes will be honored.
How much should I bequeath?
Islam allows up to one-third (33%) of one’s wealth to be bequeath (gifted to the heirs as per Islamic laws) . Howev-er, a higher percentage can be bequeath if all the heirs agree that a larger percentage be given to charity, or if any heir wishes to forego his or her inheritance share for the bequest. Additionally, a higher percentage can be bequeathed if the bequeather has no Muslim heirs.
Who manages the Helping Hand Legacy Society funds?
A team of professionals and financial planners chosen by HHRD Management and Board provide guidance on how to further enhance our endowment. They have been doing so for many years and have an excellent performance record. HHRD plans on diversifying our endowment over time. More information to be provided in the near future.

Gifts in a will or trust
Donations in your will or trust are (by far) the most popular type of planned gift. Learn more, or get help starting your will (for free!).
Beneficiary designations
Gifting assets not covered by your will — like 401(k) or IRA accounts — may help your heirs avoid unwanted taxes, even if you’re below the estate tax threshold.
Popular tax-smart gifts
Many people are increasingly choosing to give non-cash assets, so they can have a bigger impact at less cost to them.
